Itinerary
Day 1 – Edinburgh to Speyside: Into the Highlands
Begin your whisky adventure with a scenic drive north, passing through the wild beauty of the Cairngorms National Park as we head into Speyside — the beating heart of Scotch whisky.
Glenfiddich Distillery – One of the few still family-owned distilleries, Glenfiddich offers a fascinating look at how tradition meets innovation, with a warm welcome and a dram to match.
The Balvenie – A neighbouring gem, Balvenie showcases the rare art of floor malting, on-site coopering, and rich, honeyed whiskies.
Settle into your Speyside accommodation and let the landscape — and perhaps another dram — work its magic.
Day 2 – Exploring Speyside: Classic Malts & Local Flavours
A full day to dive deeper into Speyside’s whisky trail, visiting iconic names and discovering the region’s unique charm.
The Macallan Estate – Step into one of the most striking distilleries in the world, where design meets tradition, and the whiskies are every bit as impressive as the views.
Aberlour Distillery – Nestled by the River Spey, this cosy distillery is known for its rich, sherry-cask matured expressions.
Glen Grant – Stroll through its peaceful Victorian gardens and enjoy a lighter dram that reflects the setting.
Evening at leisure to enjoy a hearty Highland meal or visit a local whisky bar.
Day 3 – Across the Highlands to Skye: Castles, Coast & Character
Today, we head west — a journey through postcard-perfect Highlands, with castle views and lochs along the way.
Stop at Eilean Donan Castle for photos and a wander — one of Scotland’s most iconic spots.
Cross the bridge to the Isle of Skye, where the landscape turns wild and elemental.
Talisker Distillery – Skye’s legendary distillery offers bold, peaty drams with salty sea air in every sip. Take your time on the tour or enjoy a relaxed tasting in the bar.
Day 4 – A Full Day on Skye: Nature, Culture & a Few More Drams
Enjoy a slower pace as we explore the Isle of Skye’s rugged beauty and hidden treasures — with whisky never too far away.
Optional hike to the Fairy Pools or Quiraing for stunning views
Torabhaig Distillery – A newer addition to Skye, blending modern craft with traditional techniques in a beautiful coastal setting
Free time to explore Portree, shop for local crafts, or enjoy a seaside lunch
Evening suggestion: local seafood paired with a smoky island whisky.
Day 5 – The Road Home: Through Lochaber & the Trossachs
Our final day winds us back to Edinburgh through some of the most scenic routes in Scotland.
Drive through Fort William and the shadow of Ben Nevis
Stop for lunch by Loch Lomond, taking in the views of this iconic loch
Glengoyne Distillery – Often called the most beautiful distillery in Scotland, Glengoyne offers a soft, unpeated style — a gentle farewell dram
Arrive back in Edinburgh in the late afternoon, where your whisky journey ends — but the memories (and perhaps a bottle or two) will stay with you.
